American singer-songwriter Marilyn Manson is going to perform at the Astro World hip hop festival on Saturday. But the news of him performing doesn’t go well as many Twitterati thought the 50-year-old singer has passed away.
Marilyn Manson’s name showed up on the trending topics list where many users feared that maybe the famous singer is no more alive. They breathed a sigh of relief in subsequent tweets as the clarification for the same was done lately.
Twitter filled with posts and tributes to the American singer-songwriter from Friday afternoon to Saturday morning, but many of them were still confused, to say the least about the matter. Manson was a last-minute addition to Travis Scott’s Astro World music festival in Houston, Texas. This collaboration is itself so unlikely for many fans that they assumed the worst possible outcome when they saw Manson’s name trending in their newsfeeds.
At 50 years old, Marilyn Manson is one of the most prominent figures of heavy metal and industrial music around the world. Heavily known for his dark image and mostly controversial themes, he is also a pioneer in overthrowing gender norms in the mainstream media.
Besides Astro World, Marilyn Manson has been playing dates around the western U.S., including a show in Phoenix, Arizona earlier this week. His next show is scheduled for a festival in Japan in March.
Astro World is going live on Saturday night at One NRG Park in Houston, Texas.
The lineup for the music festival includes performances of Migos, Marilyn Manson, Pharrell, Gucci Mane, Rosalia, Young Thug, Megan Thee Stallion, DaBaby, Sheck Wes, Young Dolph + Key Glock, Pop Smoke, Tay Keith, Don Toliver, and the Houston All-Stars.
