CARDI B SHARES HER #METOO MOVEMENT
The 26 years old rapper revealed about the incident during an interview with veteran radio personality Angie Martinez for WE TV’s Untold Stories of Hip Hop.
“I will never forget how I went to shoot for this magazine and the photographer; he was trying to get close to me like, ‘Yeah, you want to get in this magazine?’ Then he pulled his dick out.” Cardi told Angie during the interview. She also shared how she felt about the whole situation. “I was so fucking mad,” she says, “and I was just like, ‘This is crazy.’”
Cardi even left the photoshoot midway after the incident. “I was like, [You’re] fucking bugging. You know what? I’m out!”
She even alerted the management, “You know what’s so crazy?” I told the magazine owner and he just looked at me like, ‘So? And?'”
The rapper compared her disturbing experience to the #MeToo movement, which went viral in October 2017.
“When I see the #MeToo movement, there’s girls from the ‘hood, I know that they went through the same type of treatment,” Cardi continued. “They make you feel like you gotta do a certain type of thing for the most bullshit. It happens really every day.”
Afterward Cardi B made it clear that she still has a zero-tolerance policy for that kind of behavior. When Martinez asked if she faces that same type of harassment today, Cardi said, “Oh, hell no. I’ll put you on blast on my Instagram … I’ll fucking violate.”
During the Untold Stories of Hip Hop‘s premiere, Cardi B also discussed working as a stripper, her relationship with Offset and also motherhood. The episode also featured an interview with Snoop Dogg.
