John Wick director David Leitch’s Deadpool 2 had a record-breaking success in the Box-office. But the expectations of the Deadpool 3 is quite a mystery. Apparently, even Josh Brolin had been running around behind the franchise for a while. He has expressed his disappointment with the progress of the next movie since he hasn’t been receiving any concrete answers.
During a recent appearance at ACE Comic Con in Seattle, he mentioned,
“I don’t know what’s going to happen. I’m actually, I’ve been calling them, like, ‘What’s the deal with Cable, man?’ Seriously, 100 percent serious. They’re figuring it out. It’s a big world now, it just got much, much bigger. So who knows.”
On the other hand, a solo franchise has been planned to go ahead with the classic character, Cable in Deadpool 2. Since the strongest villain Thanos of Avengers: Infinity Wars and Avengers: Endgame is done and dusted, it shouldn’t be much of an issue to get Cable his own movie.
Although Josh Brolin’s return with a solo Cable movie in still a question, you can definitely look forward to the massive take on Frank Herbert’s Dune by Arrival and Blade Runner 2049 director Denis Villeneuve.
Ryan Reynolds expressed some doubts to Entertainment Weekly about some concerns on the concept of losing everything for the character Deadpool, to bring order to the Universe. Ryan didn’t forget to put a piece of advice on where the franchise could go next.
“I feel like the character, in order for him to function properly within his own universe, you need to take everything away from him. I don’t think that you can keep doing that.”
If the rumors are to be believed, Deadpool 3 will likely be a Phase 5 movie. Phase 5 will begin on February 2022, with an untitled Marvel movie.
Although no-one else has confirmed their involvement yet, the cast for Deadpool 3 is supposed to be packed tighter than the previous one. During that same interview with Lorraine, Reynolds also hinted that Hugh Jackman could reprise the role of Wolverine in Deadpool 3.
